Web design and UI/UX design
Design here means two things that are usually sold separately. How it looks, which is what a visitor judges in the first second, and how it works, which is what decides whether they finish what they came to do. A site can be admired and still be unusable, and the second failure costs more.
What this covers
UI and UX design
The order things happen in and what each screen asks of somebody, decided before anything gets built.
Web design from a blank page
A look that belongs to your business, rather than a theme thousands of other companies also bought.
Design systems and component libraries
One set of decisions about type, colour and spacing, so every page you add later already matches.
Visual identity and logo design
A mark, a palette and typography that hold together across a website, a document and a sign.
How we approach it
Start from the content
We design around what actually has to be said, not around a layout waiting to be filled. A design that only holds together with placeholder text falls apart the day real copy arrives.
Decide once, apply everywhere
Type, spacing, colour and states are settled as a set rather than page by page. That is what keeps a site coherent as it grows, and what stops the fifth page looking like a different site.
Check it under real conditions
On a phone, on a slow connection, with a keyboard, and with the contrast measured rather than eyeballed. Anything that only works on a large bright screen is not finished.
The rest of what we do
Tell us what is not working
Describe the problem rather than the solution. Working out which part of this applies is our job, not yours.
