Website maintenance and support
Launch day is the beginning of a site's life, not the end of it. Software ages whether or not anybody touches it: dependencies fall behind, certificates expire, a service changes its rules. Maintenance is the difference between a site that stays quietly fine and one that fails on the day it matters.
What this covers
Hosting and deployment
Somewhere reliable to run, and a way to publish changes without anyone holding their breath.
Ongoing maintenance and support
Updates, small fixes and somebody to ask, so problems get handled instead of accumulating.
Uptime monitoring and backups
Knowing the site is down before your customers do, and being able to put it back as it was.
Content updates
Changes made for you whenever that is faster than working out how to do them yourself.
Analytics and reporting
Numbers that answer a question you actually have, rather than a dashboard nobody opens twice.
How we approach it
Watch it so you do not have to
Monitoring that tells us the site is unreachable before a customer does. Finding out from an annoyed email is the most expensive way to learn it.
Small, frequent, boring changes
Regular small updates instead of one enormous overdue one. The big update is where things break, precisely because too much changed at once to tell what did it.
Always be able to go back
Backups that have actually been restored from, and releases that can be reversed. A backup nobody has ever tested is a belief, not a safeguard.
The rest of what we do
Tell us what is not working
Describe the problem rather than the solution. Working out which part of this applies is our job, not yours.
